PHOTOGRAPHS: PHOTOGRAPHIC HISTORY

Photographic History pertains to images documenting early photographic methods and processes, 1839-1920. It includes examples of the major variations of daguerreotypes, ambrotypes and tintypes. The publication Mirror, Mirror: The Burns Collection Daguerreotypes is a detailed study of the daguerreotypes of the United States in comparison to English, French and German images. Silver & Glass…, a study of the ambrotype and other images on glass is in development.
